fame hOle

fame hOle is a mobile dance opera created by Alex Romania and Stacy Lynn Smith set inside their 2014 Prius V; a conceptual roadshow on the impossible nature of the touring act of life in general in a collapsing colonial empire. Dance is the vehicle for an absurdist, documentary performance of disintegrating infrastructure and arts in America. Through speculative (anti)world building, they cast themselves as the last “influencers” on an intergalactic mission to save existence from collapsing into a black hole. An ontological response to existential / class / mental health crises; a self-reflexive journey West through Hollywood's romanticized apocalyptic nightmare.
