Alex Romania has been working and creating in various in video production capacities since 2014 ; with experience in performance documentation, short and long form documentary, music videos, narrative storytelling and stage design.

performance documentation

Coming up in a fast paced working environment shooting live performance documentation and short documentaries working with Marin Sander-Holzman as part of Marin Media Labs for several years, Romania has documented hundreds of performances in NYC and around the country. Several of the shows which Romania has documented have been awarded honors by the New York City Bessie Dance Awards, and many works have been captured specifically for longterm archiving and public access via the Jerome Robbins Dance Division at New York Public Library’s Performing Arts Library.

Stage Design

Video designs have been featured in the work of Antonio Ramos, live music performances by Estado Flotante, Maira Duarte’s live performances by Dance to the People, in collaborations with Stacy Lynn Smith and in Romania’s own live performance’s in works such as KLUTZ, junkhead, Face Eaters, fame hOle, and Tent (skin).
